Dorothy L. Kahabka

ANTHON, Iowa -Dorothy L. Kahabka, 65, of Georgetown, Texas, formerly of Anthon, died Friday, April 20, 2001, in Georgetown.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. today at The Gabriels Chapel in Georgetown, with the Rev. Darrel Gilbertson of Christ Lutheran Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown.

Mrs. Kahabka was born Nov. 17, 1935, in Anthon, the daughter of Charles A. and Olive (Burke) Newman.

She was an Avon district manager for 30 years and employed with I.S.D. 191 as a building and grounds manager.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Georgetown, Red Poppy, Garden Club and NewComers.

Survivors include her husband, Richard D. Kahabka; two daughters, Theresa Kahabka of Georgetown, and Cheryl and her husband, Jason Standing of Farmington, Minn.; two sons and their wives, Dale and Marilyn of Minneapolis, and Richard and Selena of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Tarah Jo, Kevin, Sarah and Curtis Kahabka; two sisters, Jeanette Kelsey of Smithland, Iowa, and Donna Palser of Round Rock, Texas; and a brother, James Newman of Salix, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
