MAPLETON, Iowa - Doris Christina Morgan, 85, of Mapleton died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Mapleton, with the Rev. Daniel Torkelson, officiating. Burial will be in Grant Cemetery, near Rodney. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the Armstrong Funeral Home, Mapleton.

Mrs. Morgan was born Oct. 3, 1913, in Odebolt, Sac County, the daughter of John and Augusta (Dadt) Hinrickson. She married William Morgan Sept. 9, 1931, at Mapleton. He died May 10, 1968. She lived in the Mapleton area most of her life.

She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include a special friend, Ed Meier of Mapleton; seven sons and spouses, Leo and Charlotte of Walthill, Neb., James and Frances of Kiron, William and Linda of Mapleton, Walter and Betty of Castana, Dan and Louise of Sioux City, Rex and Debby of Battle Creek and Larry of Council Bluffs; three daughters and their husbands, Helen and Virgil Hesse of Dakota City, Neb., Betty and Verdeen Suhr of Sioux City and Doris and Jim Mauch of Soldier; six brothers and their wives, John and Dora, George and Darlene and Clyde and Maxine, all of Mapleton, Albert and Lavone of Ida Grove, Richard and Ann of Rodney and William and Marie of Evansville, Ill.; one sister, Jane Meyer of Correctionville; a sister-in-law, Arleen Hinrickson of Mapleton; 32 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and 13 stepgrandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers; one sister; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
