Harold E. Jacobson, 90, of Sioux City died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with David Altman officiating. Burial will be in Grant Township Cemetery, Rodney, Iowa. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m. and a service of remembrance at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Harold was born March 13, 1913, in Mapleton, Iowa, the son of Ira Dale and Emma Effie (Christenson) Jacobson. He was raised in Mapleton and lived around that area until moving to Sioux City in 1958.

He married Martha M. Whitehorn on July 6, 1938, in Sloan, Iowa. He farmed around the Mapleton area in his early years. After moving to Sioux City, he was a self-employed carpenter.

He was a member of Tri-State Christian Church and was very involved in the building of the church. He was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Martha M. Jacobson of Sioux City; a daughter, Lynette "Lynn" Androy of Sioux City; a grandchild, Curtis A. Androy of Sioux City; a great-grandchild and her spouse, Tera and Tim Girard of Sioux City; two great-great-granddaughters, Anna and Abby Girard; a brother and his wife, Robert and Fern Jacobson of Mapleton; a sister, Genevieve Albertson of Tigard, Ore.; two sisters-in-law, LaVera Jacobson and Darlene Burke, both of Mapleton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dale and Donald Jacobson.
