2 Sept 2004Martha Marian Jacobson, 88, of Sioux City died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, in Sioux City.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with Nancy Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Grant Township Cemetery in Rodney, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.
Martha was born July 22, 1916, in Lawton, Iowa, the daughter of Leslie Lee and Nellie Elizabeth (Busby) Whitehorn. She was raised in Woodbury and Monona counties. She attended and graduated from Onawa High School.
She married Harold Jacobson on July 6, 1938, in Sloan, Iowa. He died Jan. 26, 2004.
She was the food manager at Bishop's Restaurant in Sioux City and later a baker at the Palmer House Restaurant in Sioux City. She enjoyed cooking, cards and family gatherings.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynette "Lynn" Androy of Sioux City; a grandson, Curtis A. Androy and his wife Cathy of Sioux City; a great-granddaughter, Tera Girard and her husband Tim of Sioux City; two great-great-granddaughters, Anna and Abby Girard of Sioux City; a sister, Edith Gregerson of South Sioux City; and a brother-in-law, Cecil Rainwater of Paradise, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and three sisters.
Memorials may be sent to the family in her name.
