Gunda Ulven Knutson was born February 12, 1883 at Soldier, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She grew up to womanhood in this vicinity. In the year 1903 she was united in holy wedlock to Richard Knutson. To this union six children were born, two having preceded her in death.

Two weeks ago, Mrs Knutson became seriously ill and was taken to the hospital in Ute where she submitted to an operation, nothing could be done, except to give her care and comfort. She passed away Saturday, February 25, 1933 at 2:45 o'clock at the age of 50 years and 12 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, three sons, Roy, Wilmer and Henry all of Soldier, one daughter Mrs Earnest Klouse of Charter Oak; one adopted daughter, Clarice Kelly of Soldier, and ten grand children; her aged mother, Mrs Karn Ulven; three sisters, Mrs Martin Nelson of Soldier; Mrs Ray Braden, Lebanon, Oregon, Mrs Leonard Wood of Charter Oak, four brothers, Olaf, Harold and Even of Soldier and Alfred of Oregon and many relatives and friends.

"Though the mountains depart and the hills be removed, yet my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on theee. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord, thy redeemer,"(Is. 54:10-17)

"There where no charge, nor death can mage us sever,
May we our dear ones meet:
To own thee, Jesus, as our King for ever,
And worship at thy feet."

Funeral sercices on Monday February 27, from the home of Mrs J Nelson, Soldier at 1:30 and from the Soldier town church at 2:00 p.m. Pastor O.B. Anderson of Onawa officiated.
