Lewis Knutson about 77, passed away at the Onawa hospital about 6:00 Tuesday morning, Dec. 22 after an illness of about a week. Mr Knutson had suffered a couple of heart attacks while doing chores at his farm two miles southeast of Soldier last week. Then Sunday evening he was taken to the hospital.

Funeral services will be held from the Oldham funeral home at 1:30 and at the Soldier Lutheran Church at 2:00 this Thursday. Pastor John Kilde will officiate. Burial will be in the Soldier Valley Cemetery under the direction of the Oldham Funeral Home.

Mr Knutson was born at Soldier, Iowa on September 20, 1876 and had lived in this community his entire life. He was the son of Thrond and Guri Knutson.

He leaves to mourn his passing, wife, Clara; one sister, Mrs Mary Ellison of Vermillion, SD and one brother, Charley Thompson of Bashaw, Alberta, Canada, besides a number of other relatives.

Lewis was a hard working person, a good neighbor and friend to all who knew him.
