Soldier, Iowa--Special Funeral services for Richard C Knutson, 87, who died Monday at a Sioux City nursing home, will be at 7 p.m. Thusday at the Lutheran Church in Soldier.
The Rev Harry Sorensen will officiate. Burial will be in the Soldier Cemetery under the direction of the Pearson Funeral Home.
Mr Knutson was born July 21, 1878 at Moorhead, Iowa. He married Gunda Ulden April 1, 1903 at Soldier. He farmed near Ute and Moorhead, Iowa and lived at Soldier prior to entering the nursing home. He was a member of the Lutheran Church at Soldier, Mrs Knut died in 1933.
Survivors include three sons, Roy and Henry of Sioux City and Wilmer of Soldier; one daughter, Mrs Ernest Klaus of Ute, IOwa; an adopted daughter, Mrs Claris Kelley of Los Angeles; 20 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and onesister, Mrs Lena Thompson of Bashaw, Alberta, Canada.
