William Raymond Severson, 93, of Sioux City, Iowa and formely of Soldier, Iowa died Thusday, November 9, 1995 at the Westwood Convalescent Home in Sioux City.

Mr Severson was born on March 30, 1902 at Delmont, SD, the son ofd Simon E and Julia (Benson) Severson. He attended Soldier High School. He worked on his fathers farm near Soldier for several years before moving to Santa Monica CA where he worked for McDonald Douglas Aircraft for 30 years as a mechanic with the "Aero Space" program. He returned to Sioux City in 1984 where he made his home with his sister for 11 years until he entered Westwood Convalescent Home.

He was bapited and confirmed in the Soldier Lutheran Church in Soldier and was a member of the McDonald Douglas Aircraft union in California.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs Roger (Ramona) Christensen of Sioux City; two sisters, Mrs Lester (Gladyce)Seehusen of Onawa and Mrs Elvira Krause of Sioux City; two grandchildren, Mrs Terry (Sheree) Battelle of Newport Beach CA and Brian Christensen of Omaha, NE, four great grandchildren, Alexandra Alice Battelle of Newport Beach, CA and Jason, Todd and Sean Christensen of Omaha, Ne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Anna G Boyce and two infant sisters and one brother, Irvin A Severson.

Services were held at 2 p.m, Monday, November 13, 1995 at the Soldier Lutheran Church at Soldier, Iowa, with Pastor Robert Vaage officiating. The organist, Mrs Ivan Gibbs, played the selections "Beautiful Savior" and "Heaven Is My Home".

Bearers were Clayton Swenson, Bernard Thoreson, Bryce Lee, Jim Longlee, Elvin Heistand and Gordon Foss.

Interment was in the Soldier Lutheran Church Cemetery at Soldier with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home in Soldier.
