Glenn M Severson, 37, prominent farmer of the Moorhead community and an officer of the Soldier Lutheran Church died Thursday, February 18th only a couple of days after he was admitted to the Denison hospital. His death was a shock to both communities where he had lived all his life. He leaves a wife and five children, all nine years and younger.

Death was the result of hemmorhages and illness that had given him trouble once before about ten years ago.

Glenn was a highly respected young man, a hard worker and a very good manager. He was prominent in church and lodge affairs, being a past secretary and secretary-elect of the Soldier Lutheran Church, a member of the Moorhead Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and the Sioux City Consistory.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 22nd, with a prayer service for the family at the home southwest of Moorhead and at the Soldier Lutheran Church at 1:30 Pastor Maynard Moen gave the sermon "Im But a Stranger Here" and the "Twenty Third Psalm" was sung by Mrs Rogers A Wilson, accompanied by Miss Janice OLson at the organ. Interment was in the Soldier Valley Cemetery under the direction of the Pearson Funeral Home of Soldier. Pallbearers were Jim Severson, Creighton Millard, Dale Kaehlar, Leo Hull, Glenn Thoreson and Juhl Hansen.

Glenn Millard Severson, son of Mr and Mrs Guy Severson, was born November 3, 1922 at Moorhead, Iowa.

He died February 18, 1960 at the Denison hospital at the age of 37 years, 3 months, and 18 days.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Soldier Lutheran Church and at the time of his death was secretary-elect of the church, having served in that capacity in the past.

On August 13, 1950 he was united in marriage to Glendora Olljenbruns at Amherst, Colo. To this union were born three sons and two daughters.
Mr Severson was a member of Elk Lodge No. 586 A.F. & A.M. and O.E.S. No 528 at Moorhead and a member of the Sioux City Consistory.

Left to mourn his untimely death are the widow, three sons Gary, George, and John: two daughters, Betty and Jane; his parents, Mr and Mrs Guy Severson, three brothers, Russell of Moorhead, Ronald of LeMars and Raymond of Soldier; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr Severson was a devoted and loving husband and father.
