Mrs Julia Severson, a resident of the Soldier area for nearly 80 years, passed away at her home on the farm in Soldier Township on October 9, 1971. She had reached the age of 104 years, 1 month and 12 days.

She was born August 27, 1867 in Green County, Wisconsin to Arnie and Sigri Benson. On November 14, 1893 she was united in marriage to Simon E Severson at Soldier.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Adams Lutheran Church in Green County, Wis. and was a member of the Soldier Lutheran Church. She had a life membership in the Women's Missionary Federation.

Survivors include two sons, Irvin at home, Raymond of Santa Monica, California; two daughters, Mrs Lester Seehueen of Soldier and Mrs Paul Krause of Sioux City; one granddaughter and two great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband and three daughters.

Services were held at the Soldier Lutheran Country Church at 11:a.m. Tuesday, October 12 with Pastor Arnold Mathison officiating. Mrs Harry Anderson accompanied Pastor Mathison as he sang "Den Store Hvite Flok", and " Lamb of God." Bearers were Adolph Bagen, Wilton McDole, Elmer Longlee, Bennett Hagen, Harlow Winegate and Lowell Amunson.

Interment was in the Soldier Valley Cemetery with arrangments by the Pearson Funeral Home of Soldier.
