Mrs Charles Jackson Funeral On Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs Charles W. Jackson, 62 year old resident of Smithland and mother of Milton Jackson of Mapleton, who passed away Thursday of last week, were held Saturday at Smithland in the Methodist church with the pastor in charge.

Interment was in Mt Hope cemetery here under the direction of the Olerich Funeral home of Mapleton.

Mrs Jackson had been failing in health for some time and recently suffered a stroke. She was a daughter of Mr and Mrs Joseph Anderson and was born in Pike County, Ohio, May 6, 1874. Her mother died while she was only a child, and later, along with her father and other members of the family, she came west and located in Iowa.
She was married to Charles W Jackson of Soldier February 3, 1892. They have made their home on various farms in this community.

She is survived by her husband and five children, Milton Jackson of Mapleton, Mrs Gordon Lewis of Ida Grove, formely of Mapleton, Wayne Jackson of Ute, Elmer Jackson of Hawarden and Mrs Newell Lund of Soldier. She also is survived by four brothers, Kirk and Alva Anderson of Whiting, Edward and Craven Anderson of Walthill, Nebr, one sister, Mrs Ellis Travis, living in California, 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild. One daughter, MrsJohn Harris, preceded her in death.
