Mrs Grace Shook Laid to Rest January 18th

Grace Moore Shook, the youngest daughter born to Thomas H and Elizabeth T Moore on September 15, 1880, at Mt Etna, Iowa, and passed from this life at her home in Onawa on January 16, 1960. Death came after a long illness. She had reached the age of 79 years.

On Aug. 18, 1900 she was united in marriage with Fred Shook in Onawa. To this union eight children were born.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs Mildred L Sammons of Sioux City and Mrs Lucille Walker of Princeton, Ill; her three sons, Herbert, Donald and Ival, all of Onawa; and there are 24 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Two daughters and one son preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 18th at the Pearson Funeral Chapel. Rev Everett Epperson conducted the services. Mrs Orland Ferris sang "Nearer My God to Thee" and "The Old Rugged Cross" accompanied at the organ by Mrs Oliver Kelley.

The casket bearers were James Galbreath, Clifton Roberts, Gordon Conway, Lawrence Brooks, Wayne Roberts and Harry Ramsey. Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery.
