Charles W Erlemeier, age 84, of Mapleton, Iowa died on Sunday, October 9, 1988 of an apparent heart attack.

Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 1988, in St Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton, Iowa, with the Reverend John Brennan officiating. Con-celebrants were Reverend LeRoy Seuntjens and Reverend Munn of Breda, Iowa. The lector was Melissa Erlemeier, servers were Daniel and Mark Forbes, and Jeff Erlemeier carried the cross. Burial was in the Danbury Catholic Cemetery, near Danbury, Iowa. Visitation was after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 1988, with the rosary recited at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m.in the Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton, Iowa.

Mr Erlemeier was born on November 12, 1903, to Frank and Albertina (Sohm) Erlemeier, near Danbury, Iowa, and attended St Mary's School in Danbury, Iowa. He married Cornelia Seuntjens on January 29, 1929. The couple farmed, near Danbury, Iowa, for forty years. They retired to Mapleton, Iowa, in January of 1969.
Mr Erlemeier was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, one granddaughter and one great-grandson.

Survivors include his wife: three sons, Fred and Roger, both of Danbury, Iowa and Lester of Spring Grove, Pennsylvania; three daughters, Mrs William (Virginia) Forbes of Danbury, Iowa, Marian Hensley of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Carol Lee of Mapleton, Iowa; three sisters, Theresa Erlemeier of Danbury, Iowa and Mary Venner and Cecelia Erlemeier, both of Breda, Iowa; thirty-two grandchildren; and twenty-six great grandchildren.
