10 November 1975Mapleton, Iowa--Mrs Julius Ernst, 87, Mapleton, died Nov 8, in Mapleton after a brief illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Nov 11 in St Peter's United Church of Christ. The Rev. Homer Perry will officiate. Burial will be in Mt Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Walter Funeral Home.
Mrs Ernst the former Anna Margaret Laumbach, was born June 9, 1888, near Schleswig. She was married Feb. 13, 1912, near Schleswig.
The couple farmed near Ricketts before moving to a farm near Mapleton where they lived for 34 years. They moved to town in 1947. Her husband died Dec 29, 1972 in Mapleton.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ and a charter member of the church. Mrs Ernst belonged to the women's fellowship of the church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs Fred (Fern) Schnoor of Mapleton and Mrs Norman (Pearl) Hahn, both of Mapleton; four grandchildren, a great-granddaughter; and a brother, Peter of Ute.
