WHITING, Iowa -- Mae Emily Mock, 81, of Robertsdale, Ala., formerly of Whiting, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, in Robertsdale.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa, Iowa. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery.

Mae was born May 12, 1922, in Onawa, the daughter of John and Florence Sue (Hupp) Gilgan. She graduated from Onawa High School.
On Aug. 31, 1940, she married Lyle E. Mock in Onawa. They had lived in Whiting since 1949. She had worked at the OK Cafe and helped her husband at Mock's Tavern. Lyle died Sept. 10, 2000, in Onawa. She moved to Robertsdale in October 2000, to be near a daughter.

She was a member of Church of Christ in Whiting and the American Legion Emery Johnson Post 481 Auxiliary.

She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Sharon and Gary Linton of Robertsdale and Janet and Hugh Whiles of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lyle in 2000; a son, Richard in 1998; and nine brothers and sisters.

Memorials may be directed to the local Alzheimer's Chapter.
