Mapleton, Iowa--Twila Oregon, 69, of Mapleton died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Armstrong Chapel in Mapleton. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Anthon, Iowa. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m., with the family present 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Twila Jean Oregon was born Jan. 23, 1934, at Castana, Iowa, to Harley and Violet (VanCleve) Payne. She grew up in the Mapleton area and attended Mapleton High School.

On Jan. 27, 1951, she married Keith Oregon at St Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton. Keith died Jan. 18, 1986. Twila was a cook at Maple Valley School in Mapleton until 1966.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Mary's Guild. Twila enjoyed spending time with her children and quilting.

She is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Sheryl and Tom Krumbholz of Des Moines, Iowa, Lori and Tony Jensen of Whiting, Iowa, and Lynette and Brain Mack of Smithland, Iowa; two brothers and their wives, Clarence and Delores Burkhart of Mapleton and Dean and Donna Payne of Castana, Iowa; and eight children.

In addition to her husband, Twila was preceded in death by a son, Steve; two daughters, Deborah and Susan; her parents; a brother, Francis Burkhart; and a sister, Betty Jacoby.

Pallbearers will be Scott Jacoby, Ron Jacoby, Pat Oregon, Phil Oregon, Ron Uhl, Greg Trucke, Eric Jacoby and Randy Jacoby.
