ONAWA, Iowa -- Kathryn J. Wiltse, 92, of Onawa passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at a Sioux City hospital.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, with Evangelist John Lizer officiating.

Kathryn was born May 9, 1911, in Moville, Iowa, the daughter of Leslie and Bessie (Wright) Steffe. She graduated from Moville High School in 1928.
She married Fay Wiltse on Aug. 21, 1929, in Logan, Iowa. The couple made their home in Pisgah, Iowa, where he operated a trucking business and she worked in the local general store. Fay passed away Jan. 10, 1982.

She is survived by three children, Robert Fay Wiltse and his wife, Bonnie, of Correctionville, Iowa, Carol Sue Ploeger and her husband, Richard, of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Janice Joy Paper of State Center, Iowa; a sister, Maxine Kuchel of Kingsley, Iowa; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Carl, Hilburn and Kenneth Steffe; a sister, Lillie Strohbehn; an infant sister; a grandson, Robert Wiltse Jr.; a granddaughter, Carol Ann Paper; and a son-in-law, James Paper.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Community of Christ Church in Pisgah, Iowa.
