Blencoe, Iowa-- Nellie I. Gahm, 92, of Blencoe died Friday, October 17, 2003, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Blencoe United Church of Christ with the Rev. Reva B Karstens officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Blencoe. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Nellie was born Dec. 31, 1910 at Sherman Township, Iowa, near Blencoe, the daughter of Byron and Olive L. (Busby) Molle. She was raised in the Blencoe/Onawa areas and graduated from Onawa High School in 1929. After graduation, she taught country schools near Onawa, at Mann School, Sherman No. 5 and Sherman No. 2.

Nellie married Raymond Gahm on Sept. 3, 1938. The couple farmed and raised their family near Blencoe. Raymond passed away March 13, 1988.

She was a member of Blencoe United Church of Christ and served as deaconnes. Nellie loved the outdoors, pets and cooking.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Lenore and Gary Phipps of Blencoe, and Kathryn and David Cummins of Onawa: five grandchildren, Bryan and his wife, Kristi Phipps, Barry and his wife, Becky Phipps, Margie Wagner, Charles and his wife, Carrie Cummins and Daniel and his wife, Becky Cummins; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Joseph and Ben Molle.
