15 August 2003Moorhead, Iowa-- Bernard R. Nickolisen, 67, of Moorhead passed away Wednesday, Aug 13, 2003, at the University Medical Center in Omaha.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Rush Family Care Service in Omaha, Iowa. Burial will be in Little Sioux Township Cemetery, Smithland, Iowa. There will be no visitation.
Bernard was born Oct. 4, 1935, in Grant Center, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Dorothy (Funkhouser) Nickolisen. He graduated from Blencoe (Iowa) High School in 1953. He married Phyllis Kratz in October 1954.
He farmed west of Moorhead and was a field office manager with Irving F. Jensen Construction for 15 years. He married Carol (Reynolds) Lindsay on November 11, 1991, in Woodbine, Iowa.
He was a member of Moorhead Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; his children and their spouses, Brad and Cheryl of Moorhead, Chris and Richard Timm of Paullina, Iowa, Keith and Julie of Cresent, Iowa, and Chad and Jewel of Red Oak, Iowa; five grandchildren, Cory and Amber Timm and Tyler, Chloe and Jackson Nickolisen; and two sisters, Joyce Nickolisen of Sioux City and Janice Lundberg of Sergeant Bluff.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
