MOORHEAD, Iowa -- Clayton "Butch" Holverson, 64, of Moorhead died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at his residence following a serious illness.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Moorhead Christian Church, with the Rev. Ron Keith officiating. Private graveside services will be prior to the service Saturday in Spring Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Clayton was born Oct. 25, 1943, in Ute, Iowa, the son of LaVerne and Edna (Rude) Holverson. He was raised in the Soldier, Iowa, area and graduated from Moorhead Public School.
He and Kathy Hinkel were united in marriage and enjoyed 43 years of marriage and being best friends. He was a lifelong farmer and a very private, quiet country man, who was proud to be a farmer and cattleman. More recently, he enjoyed his newest title, grandpa.

He was a member of Moorhead Christian Church. He was an ardent John Deere man, loved country music, videos, cattle and most importantly, being with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy of Moorhead; a daughter and her husband, Heidi and Matt Eivins of Dubuque, Iowa; three stepgrandchildren, Anthony, Ariel and Austin; a son and his wife, Reid and Leah Holverson and granddaughter, Haley Johanna, all of Sioux Center, Iowa; his mother, Edna Holverson of Moorhead; a brother, Maynard Holverson of Moorhead; and other relatives and friends.
