Mrs. Della May Brenden, Excelsior, Minn., passed away March 6, 1972 at Excelsior, Minn.,, following a long illness. She had reached the age of 94 years, 1 month and 1 day.

She was born at the Albaton Settlement near Sloan, Iowa on Feb. 5, 1878, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor DuBois.

On June 6, 1912 she was united in marriage to Helge Brenden at Sioux City. He preceded her in death in 1940. For the past 30 years she had made her home in Minnesota.

Survivors are a son, Ray Brenden of Excelsior, Minn. 2 daughters, Mrs. Albert (Ina) Brenden, Sloan, Iowa and Mrs. Raymond (Della Jane) Witten, Lincoln, Nebr; one sister, Mrs. Iva Harris, Minneapolis, Minn; one brother, Clyde DuBois of Minneapolis, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Horace Parker in 1967 and one daughter, Harriet Brenden in 1921.

Services were held at the Skien Lutheran Church, Albaton, at 10 a.m. Friday, March 10, 1972 with the Rev. Donald Wilkowski officiating. Mrs. Dorothy Hubert gave comfort in song, accompanied by Mrs. Norman Westergaard. Casket bearers were Calvary Linscott, Wallace Parker, Gale Redmond, Gerald Alfredson, Maurice Brenden and Herbert Johnson. Interment was in the Sloan Cemetery with arrangements by the Wood Funeral Home of Sloan and Whiting.
