Floyd V. Belt, a lifetime resident of the Moorhead community, passed from this life at the Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa on Wednesday, February 23, 1972 at the age of 71 years. He had been in failing health for several weeks.

Mr. Bell was born July 10, 1900 at Moorhead, Iowa, a son of George and Belle Ingram Bell.

He was an electrician by vovation and had been in business in Moorhead for many years. He was affiliated with the Christain Church in Moorhead. He was united in marriage with Helen Smith on December 22,1924 at Carroll, Iowa. During World War II he served as a chief electrician in the Merchant Marines.

His survivors include one son, Robert of Des Moines, two sisters, Mrs. Anna Tornow of Moorhead and Mrs. George Burke of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two brothers Charley and Fred Bell both of Moorhead; also a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Nora Griffon and Alta Mikkelsen.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 25, 1972 at the Chriatian Church in Moorhead with the Rev. M. Dwight Walker officiating. Mrs. Charles Kratz was the organist. Bearers were Claude Outhouse, Dick Determan, Fred Conyers, Voyle Blackman, Dale Welliver and Arthur Fredrickson. Interment was in Spring Valley Cemetery with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa.
