Hollis A. Keith, Onawa, Iowa passed away Sunday afternoon, October 31, 1971 at St. Luke's East Hospital in Sioux City. He had reached the age of 66 years, 9 months and 19 days at the time of his death.
Mr. Keith was born January 12, 1905 at Moorhead, Iowa, the son of George and Anna Youngkin Keith and was reared in that community. On July 31, 1935 he was united in marriage to Marian Hansen at Onawa.
In 1944 Mr. and Mrs. Keith moved to Council Bluffs, where he was associated with the International Harvester Co. of Omaha, the Whittaker Ford Company of Council Bluffs and the John Deere Co. also of Council Bluffs as a salesman. For the past six years he has been a resident of Onawa and was employed by Bray Motors and Town & Country. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Elk Lodge No. 568, A.F. & A.M. of Moorhead, Queen Esther Chapter, O.E.S., Onawa and the Onawa Country Club.
Survivors are his wife, Marian of Onawa and his mother, Mrs. Anna Keith also of Onawa. There are a number of cousins and many friends.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 3, 1971 at Faith Lutheran Church in Onawa with Pastor Gerald Gunderson officiating. Magnus Jepson sang, "How Great Thou Art" and "No Night There" accompanied by Mrs. Jepson. Bearers were Bernard Harper, R.L. Fitxhugh, James Johnston, Kleon Ballantyne, Voyle Blackman and Gayle Winegar,. Interment was in Spring Valley Cemetery at Moorhead. Graveside rites were given by Elk Lodge, No 586, A.F. & A.M., John Moorhead, W.M. and Park Moorhead, Orator. Arrangements were by the Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa.
