Funeral services for Mrs. Walter Shearer, 80, were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 29, at the Christensen Funeral Home in Ida Grove, Iowa, with Rev. Wm. Bessmer officiating. Burial was in the Ida Grove Cemetery.

Tillia Lola Moore Shearer was born January 21, 1892 in Grant Township, Ida County, Iowa, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.J.M. Moore of Ida Grove. She graduated from Ida Grove High School in 1909 and from Drake University in 1912, going to Akron, Iowa for her first teaching assignment in the primary grades there.
She returned to Ida Grove where she taught until 1925. On February 6, 1925 she was married to Walter C. Shearer at Ida Grove. In February of 1927 they moved to Onawa, Iowa, where, at the time of her death she had reached the age of 80 years and 6 days. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She leaves to mourn, her husband, Walter, one sister, Louise Moore, nieces and nephews. Her parents, two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
