William (Bill) LeRoy West, the son of Merle and Marjorie West was born May 27, 1952 at Pisgah, Iowa and passed from this life on December 12, 1971. Death came as the result of an auto accident near Whiting, Iowa.

Bill was graduated with the 1970 High School Class of the Whiting Community School. He was very well liked by all who knew him and will long be remembered for his happy disposition. For the past few months he has been employed as a construction laborer.

Bill had accepted the Christ as his Savior and was baptized in the Whiting Church of Christ.
Survivors include his parents of Whiting; one brother Charles of Whiting; five sisters; Mrs Ardell (Linda) Persinger of Baton Touge, La.; and Cathy, Patty,Susan and Christy all of Whiting.

Funeral services were held on December 14, 1971, 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Onawa, Iowa with the Rev. E.E. Epperson officiating. Soloist was Mrs. Arnold Brenden. Her selections were :The Twenty Third Psalm" and "Precious Lord Take My Hand." Organist wa Mrs. Carl Linden.
Casket bearers were Rick O'dell,Randy Grudle, Les Jones, Fred Parks, Mark Roberts and Mike Brenden. Interment was in Harrison Cemetery, Whiting, Iowa. Arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa
