Nellie Mildred Albers was born February 14, 1898 at Grant Center, Iowa and passed from this life in the Elmwood Home in Onawa, Iowa on October 28, 1971. Death came at the age of 73 years, 8 months and 14 days.

She was united in marriage with Ernest Albers in 1916 at Onawa. He preceded her in death in May of 1961.

She was a life long resident of this area. Early in life she accepted the Christ as her Savior and was united with the Christian Church. She was a good christian woman; one who will long be remembered for her very pleasant and friendly smile and her deep appreciating for the least attention to her.

Survivors include her three sons; Clyde of Bellevue, Nebr., Clarence of Bronson, Iowa and Willard of Hinton, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; four sisters; Mrs. Eddie Miller of Onawa; Mrs. Betty Ravmond, Mrs. Jennie DuCray and Mrs. Richard Sillman all of Grand Junction, Colo; two brothers, Don Hittle in California and Ray Hittle in Idaho.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by one brother.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 1, 1971 at the Pearson Funeral Chapel in Onawa with the Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. Gilbert Smith sang, "Come Thou Fount," accompanied by Clara Kelley. Bearers were Robert Albers, Joseph Albers, David Albers, Kevin Albers, Willard Albers and Mike Miller. Interment was in the Whiting Cemetery under the direction of the Pearson Funeral Home.
