Donald L. Ulven, son of the late Olaf and Edith Ulven, was born April 14, 1926 at Soldier, Iowa and passed away Monday, December 20, 1971 at San Jose, California at the age of 45 years, 8 months and 6 days. Death came as the result of a home fire accident.

Donald graduated from Lake View High School and was an Air Force Veteran of World War II.
Survivors are his mother of Wall Lake, his wife, Irma of San Jose, California, one son, Lowell B. of Odebolt, two daughters, Marla and Lori of Early, two grandchildren, three brothers, Earl E of Mapleton, Verne of Soldier and Bennett of Storm Lake, and three sisters Mrs. Harvey (Mildred) Britton, Martelle, Mrs. Harvey (Lydia) Jorgenson. Audubon and Mrs. Raymond (Doris) Stoffregan, Lake View, Iowa.

Military funeral services were held December 23, 1971 at Chapel of the Flowers at San Jose with burial in the veterans section of Oakhill Park.
