John Daniel Dunlop, a lifetime resident of the Moorhead area, passed away unexpectedly at his farm home Thursday, January 20, 1972. Death came at the age of 68 years, 9 months and 25 days.
He was born at Moorhead, March 25, 1903, the son of Howell and Gertrude Keith Dunlop. He chose farming as his vacation, following this work most of his adult life, except for a period when he worked as a mechanic.

On October 14, 1956, he was united in marriage to Marie Aronson at Yankton, S.D. He was a member of the Christian Church at Moorhead.
Survivors include his wife, Marie, of Moorhead; 4 daughters, Mrs. James (Peggy) West and Mrs. Iry (Marlene) Helsley both of Whittier, Calif., Mrs. Roy (Gloria) Gill, Lamida, Calif, and Mrs. Hohn (Carole) Sandman of Sioux City, Iowa; 1 son, Larry Aronson of Sioux City, 1 brother, Frank Dunlop of Moorhead and 10 grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 24, 1972 at the Pearson Funeral Chapel in Onawa with the Rev. M. Dwight Walker officiating. Clara Kelley was the organist.

Bearers were Arthur Habinck, Fred Briggs, Laurel McDonald, Harold Hein, Donald Brown and Ralph Lyons. Interment was in the Spring Valley Cemetery at Moorhead with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa.
