Services Held For Charles N. Lake, Longtime Resident of Onawa

Funeral services were held at the Danielson Funeral Home in Danielson, Connecticut, Monday February 28th for Mr. Charles N. Lake a former long time resident of Onawa. Mr. Lake had made his home with a niece and her family in Brooklyn, Connecticut for the past several months. He had been in fairly good health until recently but suffered a stroke Friday night and died Saturday A.M. February 26th.
He was born in Finland, December 12, 1883, came to this country early in the century and was a naturalized citizen. Charley was associated with the father of the late Van Quackenbush and later was a partner of the Ewing & Lake Drainage Company.
Mr. Lake was a man of honesty and integrity and had many friends in the community. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Five brothers and his parents preceded him in death. He is survived by five sisters and forty nieces and nephews. His niece, Mrs. Arvi Karhu cared for him most tenderly during the months he lived with her, her husband Arvi and small daughter Carol in their home in Brooklyn, Conn. Also surviving are several cousins in Wisconsin and Michigan who were in attendance at the funeral.
