Mrs. Caroline Marie Krumveide, a longtime resident of Onawa, passed away February 17, 1972 at a Sioux City hospital following a long time illness. She had reached the age of 84 years, 3 months, and 24 days.

She was born at Denison, Iowa on November 27, 1887, the daughter of Herman and Aguste Wick Strissell.

On January 24, 1906, she was united in marriage with Frank Krumveide. The family had lived in Onawa since 1926. She was a member of Frank Lutheran Church of Onawa.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. William (Loraine) Larimore of Onawa; one brother, Louie Strissel of Denison, Iowa; 2 half brothers, Frank Sydow of Tucson, Ariz. and Carl Sydow of Omaha, Nebraska; 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Frank and two sons, Howard and Fredrick.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 1972 at Faith Lutheran Church in Onawa with Pastor Gerald Gunderson officiating. Mrs. Dan Hyatt sang "Abide With Me," accompanied by Clara Kelley, Bearers were Joe Feldhacker, Dan Hyatt, Ray Low, Jr., Virgil Smith, Harry Hoffman and Curt Hoffman. Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa.
