6 April 1972Dewey Beedle was born August 5, 1896 at Onawa, Iowa and passed from this life in the BUrgess Memorial Hospital on March 31, 1972. Death came at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 26 days.
Dewey was a lifetime resident of this community. He chose farming as his vacation and was active in this work until just a few years ago.On August 19, 1930 he was united in marriage with Florence Jones at Onawa, Iowa.
He served in the Armed Forces of the United States in World War I. He was a charter member of the David McNeill Post of the American Legion Number 129 of Onawa. He was also an active member of the Monona County Farm Bureau.
Dewey was very much respected by his many friends in the community as a hard working and honest individual. His friendly greeting to all will be missed in Onawa.Survivors include his wife, Florence of Onawa; one brother, Fred Beedle of Onawa along with several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 3, 1972 at the First Christian Church in Onawa with the Rev Everett Epperson officiating. Clara Kelley was the organist and played "How Great Thou Art," during the service. Bearers were Virgil Sorenson, Charles Bentley, Walter Trizila, Ed Fors, Walter Andersen and Clark Ruffcorn. Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa.
