Mrs. Gulick was born Nov. 6, 1910, in Lincoln Township near Whiting, the daughter of George Roy and Rose (Hawkins) Brooks. She attended a rural school and graduated from Whiting High School in 1928. After four terms at Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa, she taught one year in a rural school in Lincoln Township. She was married to Elliot Harry Gulick on July 19, 1941, and they resided in Whiting their entire married life. They enjoyed traveling together and had two vacation homes, Minnesota and Texas, for many years.

She was very creative and wrote poetry and prose, not shared with many, but which revealed her keen wit and obvious flare for the arts. She often gave programs at the United Congregational Church Women's Group in Whiting. She was a member of First Congregational Church, Queen Esther Chapter 222 of the Order of the Eastern Star and was an adult leader in the 4-H program. She also enjoyed handwork, gardening and fishing with her family.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter and her husband, Sharon and Steven Wildemuth of Bettendorf, Iowa; two grandsons, Gregory Fuller of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, and Brian Fuller of Boulder, Colo.; two nieces; a nephew; cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mabel Campbel; and a brother, Dean Brooks.
