WHITING, Iowa -- Helen Linnea Matilda Richardson, 82, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, in Onawa, Iowa.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. today at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 10th and Lucas, Onawa, with Randall Gotto, elder of Jehovah's Witnesses officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Helen Linnea Matilda Richardson was born in St. Peter, Minn., on Oct. 1, 1919, to Theodor and Sabina (Carlson) Ahlstrom.

Helen married James Allen Richardson on Oct. 17, 1937, in Iowa. Born to this union were three daughters and four sons.

In addition to her family, many things were dear to her, including her faith in her creator, her love for nature, the changing seasons, her garden and yard, her house plants and pets. Especially dear were the extended family and friends that she acquired during her lifetime.

Helen is survived by her children and their spouses, Roberta and Floyd Dugan of LeSueur, Minn., Harriet and Maurice Lunda of Whiting, Dorothy and Ben Cooper of Whiting, James and Rhonda Richardson of Whiting, and Edward and Sue Richardson of Le Mars, Iowa; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a brother and his wife, Harry and Mary Ahlstrom of New Jersey; and many close friends, too numerous to mention.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; two sons, Theodore William and Thomas Scott; three brothers; and a sister.
