ONAWA, Iowa -- Park C. Anderson, 85, of Onawa died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, with the Rev. Donald R. Ludwick officiating. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Anderson was born July 23, 1916, in Onawa, the son of Charles and Anna (Larsen) Anderson. He was a lifelong resident of Onawa, where he graduated from high school in 1934. He married June Anderson on Oct. 23, 1940, in Elk Point, S.D.

He joined the U.S. Army Air Force on Sept. 15, 1942, and served during World War II. He was discharged Nov. 3, 1945. He was employed with the Iowa State Highway Commission from 1951 until his retirement in 1976.

He was a member of First Christian Church, American Legion David Mc Neil Post 129 of Onawa, and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Survivors include his wife; four sons and their wives, Gary and Vickie of Aptos, Calif., Richard and LaVoynne of Hendersonville, Tenn., Robert and Diane of Omaha, and Ronald and Julie of Onawa; a daughter and her husband, Darla and Steve Ueding of Colfax, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Nancy Bjorklund, Florence Ordway and Helen Prichard; and two brothers, Fred Anderson and Vernon Anderson.
