ONAWA, Iowa - Lucille Irene Treece, 89, of Onawa died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Onawa, with the Rev. Donald R. Ludwick officiating. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa.

Mrs. Treece was born Jan. 18, 1912, in Onawa, the daughter of Brick E. and Hattie (Jividen) Cooper. She graduated from Onawa High School.

She married Cecil Treece in 1933. She was employed as a checker with National Foods Store. She entered Maple Heights Nursing Home in 1999.

She was a member of First Christian Church and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 129 of Onawa.

Survivors include three daughters, Imogene and her husband, Larry Crosgrove, of Ute, Iowa, Ilia and her husband, Charles Reed, of Mapleton and Neoma Smith of Omaha; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jim Smith; a sister, Bernetta Krumveide; and a brother, Paul Cooper.
