ONAWA, Iowa - Marvin L. Sheesley, 85, of Rapid City, S.D., formerly of Onawa, Iowa, died Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at Rapid City Regional Hospital following a brief illness.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa with the Rev. Donald R. Ludwick officiating. Burial will be in Grant Township Cemetery in Ticonic, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Mr. Sheesley was born June 1, 1916, in Tekamah, Neb., the son of Don and Mabel (Hart) Sheesley.
Survivors include a son, Jim Sheesley of Coos Bay, Ore.; two daughters, Nancy Sick of Puyallup, Wash., and Carol Groves of Onawa; a brother, Dale Sheesley of Rapid City; two sisters, Ruth Heisler and Marion Harder, both of Sioux City; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie; two brothers; two sisters; and a great-grandson.
