MAPLETON, Iowa - Joann Mohrhauser, 67, of Mapleton died Monday, July 2, 2001, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton, with the Rev. Edmund Tiedeman officiating. Burial will be in Danbury Catholic Cemetery, Danbury, Iowa. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a St. Mary's Guild rosary at 3 p.m. and a vigil wake service at 8 p.m., at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Miss Mohrhauser was born Oct. 16, 1933, in Mapleton, the daughter of John and Anna (Hupke) Mohrhauser. She was baptized in the Catholic faith. She graduated from Mapleton High School in 1951.

She was employed as a bookkeeper with Haubrick Lumber, Green Bay Lumber and U.B.C. Lumber. She was also employed with McNear Sinclair Gas Station.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Mary's Guild. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading and painting.

Survivors include a brother, Carl Mohrhauser of Mapleton; four sisters, Evelyn "Evie" Uhl of Sioux City, Arleen Hinrickson of Mapleton, Edna Moore of Sioux City and Anna Marie and her husband, Warren Streeter of Nisland, S.D.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joseph "Joe" and Edwin "Jeff;" and two sisters, Devota Smith and Frances in infancy.
