ONAWA, Iowa - Arlene (Lymann) Skow, 73, of Lincoln, Neb., formerly of Onawa, died Wednesday, June 27, 2001, in Lincoln.

Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Lincoln. Arrangements are under the direction of Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.

Mrs. Skow was born Feb. 26, 1928, in Huron, S.D., the daughter of Elmer and Daisy Lyman. She graduated from Huron College in 1951.

She married the Rev. Dwight Skow in 1951. She was employed as a telephone operator, English and Spanish teacher and secretary for the Speech and Hearing Clinic at the University of Lincoln for 25 years. She also served as her husband's church secretary.

She was involved in Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She was a member of the church council, United Methodist Women, Wycliffe Bible Translators, Capitol Sams RV Camping Club and Amercian Indian Youth Support. She enjoyed family genealogy.

Survivors include her husband; two sons and their wives, David and Donna and Philip and Sue; a daughter and her husband, Aleta and Don Stone; five grandchildren, Paul, Andrea and Bryan Skow and Karen and Luke Stone; three stepgrandchildren, Ryan, Nicole and Eric Horn; a great-granddaughter; a great-stepgranddaughter; a sister, Elaine Lyman; and a niece.

She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Madine, Thaine, Lucile and Osmond Lyman and Mildred Thatcher.

Memorials may be directed to Algersgate Church or Wycliffe Bible Society.
