Charlotte Mary Pohlman
MAPLETON, Iowa -- Charlotte Pohlman, 86, of Mapleton passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, at Burgess Health Care Center in Onawa, Iowa, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's United Methodist Church in Mapleton. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Charlotte Mary Pohlman was born March 22, 1921, in Maple Township, to Leonard and Rua (Bueoy) Gray. She attended Morningside College and Buena Vista College.

She married Clyde H. Pohlman on Aug. 28, 1946, in Mapleton. She taught school for many years in the Ute, Iowa, and Mapleton area. The couple also farmed in the Mapleton area.

Those left to cherish her memories include her sister, Lois Gray of Mapleton; her dog, Mittens; a niece and her husband, Janice and George Haase of Lincoln, Neb.; and a nephew and his wife, Roger and Lou Ann Gray of Bennington, Neb.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde; her parents, Leonard and Rua; an infant sister; and a brother, Charles.
