Franklin Thorne Rowe
WHITING, Iowa -- Thorne Rowe, 69, of Whiting died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, of injuries suffered in an accident.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Congregational Church in Whiting, with the Rev. Reva B. Karstens officiating. Burial will be in Whiting Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service of Onawa, Iowa.

Franklin Thorne Rowe was born Nov. 7, 1933, in Whiting, the son of Albert and Doris (Irish) Rowe. He graduated from Whiting High School and served in the U.S. Army in Europe. He was a lifelong truck driver and enjoyed serving his community.

Survivors include a special companion, Daisy Hoffman of Whiting; three sisters, Nadine and her husband, Loren Okerblad of Boxholm, Iowa, Jerrine Clark of Omaha, and Sue and her husband, Wayne Gries of Onawa; two sisters-in-law, Mollie Rowe and Pat Rowe, both of Whiting; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Jerry, Bob, Dare, Deon and Dean; and two sisters, Dawn Wiley and Betty Jo McCaw
