David Troy Maher
ONAWA, Iowa -- David T. Maher, 40, of Onawa died Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church in Onawa, with the Rev. Don Collison officiating. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

David Troy Maher was born June 20, 1967, in Onawa, the son of Ralph and Alberta (Mackey) Maher. He owned and operated Dave's Watering Hole in Onawa for seven years. He also worked several years at Petersen Salvage in Onawa. He currently worked for Darrow Pipe Organ in Onawa and enjoyed repairing and restoring organs. He was a very meticulous worker and was very proud of his accomplishments. He was glad to be a part of the restoration of the organ at the Orpheum Theater in Sioux City.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include his mother, Alberta Maher of Onawa; sisters, Deb (Gary) Warengo of Blencoe, Iowa, Denise Hardison of Omaha and Jodi Maher of Sioux City; brothers, John (Jody) Hardison of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Bob (Cheri) Hardison of Onawa and Steve Maher of Onawa; his special friend, Randy Barclay of Onawa; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Maher; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
