ONAWA, Iowa -- Ronald Dewayne Wilder, 60, of Onawa entered into rest, surrounded by his family, Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa, where he had been a resident since 2004.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, with the Rev. Don Collison officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ronald Dewayne Wilder was born Sept. 13, 1946, in Onawa, the son of James "Red" and Lillian (Gray) Wilder. He attended Onawa Public Schools, then drove truck most of his life.

He married Norma Clapper on Oct. 1, 1964, in Onawa. The couple made their home and raised their family in Onawa, where he drove for King Transfer, Rief Bros. and Dilts Trucking until poor health forced his retirement in 2002.

He was a member of First Christian Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He loved to work with Friends of Discovery on the keel boat and related activities. He was an outdoorsman and loved to play cards, listen to music, especially Hank Williams, and dance.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Norma of Onawa; his stepfather, John Orr of McCulland, Iowa; his children, Judy (Ed) Komarek of Onawa, Kevin (Emily) Wilder of Sioux City, Tim (Amy) Wilder of Onawa and Amber (Bruce) Stroman of Onawa; 13 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; two brothers, David Wilder and his special friend, Judy of Sioux City and Jimmy of Sioux City; four sisters, Connie Wilder of Tipton, Iowa, Betty (Jim) Kellogg of Decatur, Neb., Linda Fernandez of Omaha and Vivian Bainbridge of her special friend, Poncho; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Eva Parr; a brother, Mike; and a grandson-in-law, Greg Berg
