MAPLETON, Iowa -- Doris Wiseman, 89, of Omaha, formerly of the Mapleton area, passed away Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, at Skyline Nursing Home in Omaha.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's United Methodist Church in Mapleton, with the Rev. Fred Pilecki officiating. Burial will be in Heisler Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Doris Wiseman was born July 7, 1918, to Mahala (Hostetler) and Harvey Herrington, in Oto, Iowa. She was raised on farms near Danbury and Mapleton, Iowa. She was baptized at St. John's United Methodist Church in Mapleton, when she was 13 years old.

In 1938 she married Robert E. Nutt. They lived on farms near Castana, Iowa. From this union two daughters, Roberta "Bobbie" Nutt Geersen and Beverly Nutt Lambries, were born.

She married Felix Wiseman from Nebraska and settled in Seattle, Wash., in 1958. To this union a daughter, Becky Wiseman Collins, was born. The couple both worked for 23 years at Boeing Aircraft in Seattle. They retired from Boeing in 1979 and made their home in Magnolia, Iowa. After the death of Felix in 1998, she moved to Omaha to be closer to her family.

Left to cherish their memories of her include three daughters and their husbands, Roberta "Bobbie" and Gary Geersen of Denver, Colo., Beverly and Russ Lambries of Plattsmouth, Neb., and Becky and Keith Collins of Omaha; seven grandchildren, Patricia Peters, Pamela Snyder, Steven Headley, Michael Headley, Dawn Matesi, Jeffrey Collins and Scott Collins; six great-grandchildren, Patrick Snyder, Zeth Peters, Zach Peters, Jesika Peters, Maggie Headley and Brock Headley; and a sister, Frances Koeppen of Mapleton. All love Doris and will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Wiseman; her parents, Harvey and Mahala Herrington; a brother, Loren Herrington; and a sister, Fern Dean.

Pallbearers will be Steven Headley, Jeffrey Collins, Scott Collins, Larry Koeppen, Wayne Kafton and Tim Jessen.
