WHITING, Iowa -- Jeffrey Kirk Farber, 47, of Des Moines, formerly of Whiting, died Saturday, June 30, 2007, at his residence.

Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Wood Funeral Home in Sloan, Iowa, with the Rev. Robert Rook officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Anthon, Iowa. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Jeffrey Kirk Farber was born Jan. 17, 1960, in Webster City, Iowa, the son of Jim and Evonne (Bueoy) Farber. He graduated from Whiting High School in 1979. He completed LPN training at St. Luke's Nursing School in Sioux City. He lived in the Sioux City area until 12 years ago, when he moved to Des Moines. He was a medical billing specialist at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

He was baptized in the Lutheran faith. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his friends and family.

Survivors include his mother, Evonne Farber of South Sioux City; a brother, Philip Farber of Boise, Idaho; two sisters and their husbands, Marilyn and Wilson Huitink of Sloan, Iowa, and Juli and Earl Bowman of Sioux City; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Craig and Doug; a sister-in-law, Eileen Farber; and his grandparents.
