UTE, Iowa -- Marcella E. Nordaker, 86, of Ute died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Soldier Lutheran Church in Soldier, Iowa, with the Rev. Meggan Manlove officiating. Burial will be in Soldier Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Armstrong Funeral Home, 501 South Day Ave., Ute.

Marcella Elizabeth "Sally" Nordaker was born near Soldier on May 6, 1921, to Arthur and Tracy (Miller) Gibbs. She attended school in Soldier and graduated in 1938. She was employed at J. Carlson Hardware in Soldier.
On April 6, 1940, she married Milford Vernon Nordaker in Onawa, Iowa. They purchased a farm south of Soldier, where they lived for five years. In 1945, they sold the farm. They then moved to the John Aaby farm three miles north of Ute, where they lived until 1972 when they purchased the farm. In 1969, along with farming, the couple became engaged in selling Pioneer Seed Corn in Ute. The couple moved into Ute in 1988. Milford died Oct. 16, 1994.

She enjoyed shopping, traveling, playing cards and creating memories with family and friends. She was a member of Soldier Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Lester and Patricia Nordaker of Soldier; a daughter and her husband, Myrna and Jim Longlee of Soldier; five grandchildren, Jonnie Nordaker of Urbandale, Iowa, Jason and Kim Nordaker of Moorhead, Iowa, James Nordaker and his fiancee, Diane Kaye of Omaha, Gina and Greg Sisco of Moorhead, Iowa, and Chris and Nikki Longlee of Millard, Neb.; a stepgranddaughter, Julie Archer and her fiance, Jamie Kunze of Soldier; two stepgrandsons, Gary Sobek and Waukee, Iowa, and John Sobek of Norwalk, Iowa; six great-grandchildren, Madison Nordaker, Cole and Connor Nordaker, Carsyn and Carlee Sisco and Jaxson Longlee; 14 great-stepgrandchildren, Britni, Tara and Sidney King, Haylee Hanson, Seth and Cassidy Willis, Max Kaye, Shannon, Mackenzee, Brooke, Hayley, Zach, Alex and Nicole Sobek; two sisters-in-law, Audrey Androy of Dunlap, Iowa, and Norma and her husband, Elvin Heistand of Soldier; a special extended family, John and Tami Aaby of Bennett, Colo.; many nieces

and nephews; and countless friends.

Along with her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother and his wife, Vernon and Marjorie Gibbs; a sister and her husband, Alice and Glen Olson; two brothers-in-law, Howard Nordaker and his wife, Ruth, and Herman Androy; and three sisters-in-law, Burnice and her husband, Roy Mummert, Cleone and her husband, Lyle Waples and Frances Nordaker.

Pallbearers will be Jonnie, Jason and James Nordaker, Gina and Greg Sisco, Chris Longlee and Julie Archer
