Mother of Mrs. Weare Whitmore Died
Sunday, December 10th

Elizabeth Ann Hoover, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Tucker, was born in the vicinity which is now Grand Junction, Iowa on December 20, 1856. She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Pearl Whitmore in Onawa, Iowa, December 10, 1939, at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 21 days.

When she was 21 years of age she was united in marriage to George Hoover, at Jefferson, Iowa. The family lived many years at Kearney, Nebr. To this union six children were born, Guy of Chicago, Ill: Fred of Marcus, Iowa: Mrs. Edith McCoy of DesMoines, Iowa: Mabel and Grace who died in childhood, and Mrs. Pearl Whitmore of Onawa, Iowa. Mr Hoover died in 1893.

In 1899 she was married to Nicholas Deek, and one child, Ray of Chicago, was born. Mr. Deek lived only a short time after this marriage. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist church and is now translated to that great church above.
Nine grand children and two great grand children survive.

Her home has been with her daughter, Pearl in Onawa for several years.
