Former Sloan Couple Killed Near LeMars

Eugene Dubois was born May 26, 1893 on a farm near Albaton, Iowa. He died in a train-car wreck at LeMars, Iowa Wednesday November 30th at the age of 67. He attended school at Sloan and graduated from High School in Minneapolis, Minn.
December 31, 1914 he was united in marriage to Anna Richards of Sloan. He and his bride moved to the family farm near Sloan where they lived until ten months ago. They were living in LeMars at the time of death.

Mr Dubois was a member of the First Christian Church of Sloan, a Charter member of the Monona County Farm Bureau. He had served as a director of the Monona County REA for several years.
Anna Richards Dubois was born May 2, 1894 at Sloan, Iowa and died in a train-car wreck with her husband Wednesday November 30th at LeMars, Iowa at the age of 66.

Mrs Dubois attended school in Sloan. Graduated from high school in 1911, she attended the Conservatory of Music at Morningside College after which she taught music in the Sloan vicinity.

Mrs Dubois was a member of the Sloan Chapter of the Eastern Star and a past Matron of the Order. She also was a member of the First Christian Church of Sloan, serving the church as pianist for many years. She was a tireless worker for her Lord, was a member of the Ladies Aid Society and the Wesleyan Methodist Society of the Albaton Community.

She was a member of the Monona County Farm Bureau Womens Chorus

Mr and Mrs Dubois are survived by their 2 daughters, Miss Eleanor Dubois of LeMars and Mrs Herbert Janke, 2 granddaughters, Rose and Patricia Janke, all of Sloan.

Mr Dubois is survived by 2 brothers, Win of Sloan and Clyde of Minneapolis, Minn, 5 sisters, Mrs Frank Blair of Great Falls, Montana, Mrs Calla Soukup, Mrs Della Brenden, Mrs Iva Harris and Mrs Arthur Norberg all of Minneapolis and one half brother Raymond Watson of Whiting.
Mrs Dubois is survived by a sister, Mrs Paul Green of Correctionville and 4 brothers, Clarence W Richards of Ottumwa, Iowa, Ceceal Richards of Sioux City, Dwight Richards of Calgary, Canada and Leland Richards of Springfield, Mass.

They will be missed by a host of friends and neighbors.
