The obituary of Mrs Belle Halverson

Mrs Belle Halverson, a long time resident of Soldier passed away Sunday, December 11, 1960 at the hospital at Denison, Iowa where she had been a patient since November 29th.

Mrs Halverson was born January 4, 1881 near Dunlap. Iowa a daughter of Henry and Hannah Millard. At the time of her death she was 79 years 11 months and 7 days of age.

She was a school teacher for several years prior to her marriage in the Willow and Soldier township area.

On March 31, 1908 she was united in marriage to Henry Halverson at Logan, Iowa. To this union 2 sons, Donald and Clare were born.

Mrs Halverson was a faithful member of the Lutheran Church in Soldier and the WMF Society of the Church. For over 35 years she served as librarian in Soldier.

Her survivors include her husband Henry, 2 sons Donald and Clare both of Soldier: 4 grandchildren, one brother- Henry Millard of Dunlap, Iowa and 3 sisters, Mrs Carl Nelson, Mrs John Boe and Mrs Mary Casperson all of Dunlap. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother and 4 sisters.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday December 13th at the Lutheran Church in Soldier. Pastor MaynardMoen conducted the services. Mrs Norman C Hanson sang " I Hear the Voice of Jesus Say" and " Come Ye Disconsolale" accompanied at the organ by Miss Janice Olson. The casket bearers were Olaf T Olson, Orren Rude, Martin Torgerson, Oscar Wingate, Andy Ballantyne and Page Carlson. Interment at SOldier. Arrangement by the Pearson Funeral Home of Soldier.
