Orland Curt Anderson Died At The Age of 87

Had been a resident of Monona County since a young boy. He was born in Ohio in 1870.
Funeral services were conducted from the Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa on Monday, February 3rd. He died in a Sioux City hospital on February 1st.
Orlando Curt Anderson was born October 26, 1870, in Ohio and passed away at the St. Joseph Hospital in Sioux City on February 1, 1958. Death came at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 5 days.

Funeral services were held on Monday, February 3rd at 2 p.m. at the Pearson Funeral Home with Rev. Everett Epperson conducting the servies. Gilbert Smith sang "In the Garden" and "Abide with Me" accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Oliver Kelley. Casket bearers were Robert Polly, Donnie Anderson, Kelly Fairchild, Phil Cato, E.H. Gulick and Henry Roelsgard. Interment was in the Harrison cemetery at Whiting.

Mr. Anderson came to Onawa with his parents as a child. When he reached young manhood, he took a homestead in Western Nebraska.

On March 18, 1903, he was united in marriage with Mary Moravek at Harrison, Nebraska. To this union were born five children: three daughters and two sons: Mrs. Lucille Hervey, Mrs. Leona Paine and Mrs. Vera Quackenbush, all of Onawa: Antone Anderson of Whiting and Joseph.

In 1908, he with his family moved to a farm near Castana, Iowa, later locating on a farm west of Whiting, now occupied by his son Antone. In 1937 he retired from the farm and had since that time made his home in Onawa.

Mr. Anderson was a man of strong convictions and out spoken in the things that he considered wrong. He was always faithful to his obligations and made a good citizen in the communities in which he lived.

Those who survive are his five childre, 5 granchildren, George Anderson of Ashland, Nebr., Robert Paine of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Miss Kay Quackenbush of Onawa, Darrell and Dixie of Whiting.
