Onawa Resident Dies at Age of 94 Years

Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Seaton, 94, a Monona County resident for 70 years and who died on Monday August 1st, 1955 at a nursing home were held at the Pearson Funeral home on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Rev Everett Pencook, of the Methodist church officiated and burial was made in the Belvidere cemetery.

Mrs. Seaton was born January 1, 1861, at Penfield, Ohio. She was married March 13, 1888, to Edwin Seaton who preceded her in death a number of years ago. Before coming to Onawa to reside the Seaton’s lived at Turin, Iowa, for many years where her husband was in the hay business. She had been a long time member of the Methodist church.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. John Woods of Onawa: 3 sons Earl B, of Sioux City, Dale E. of Des Moines and Fay D. of Onawa. There are seven grandchildren and 17 great grand children.
